I mean, who actually READS manuals? They have too many pages and come in too many languages. And what's more, they don't have any pictures.
So, not having read the manual, I was pretty clueless on how to use my fancy flash properly and massively frustrated that no matter how loud I shouted 'FLASH', it didn't do what I wanted, ie FLASH!
Thank goodness for my fine friend James who not only reads manuals, he writes, edits and can explain the theory behind them. He turned up with a box of gubbins and a string of explanations for why the red flashy thing worked like a laser beam and how setting the camera on manual lets the flash do the work. Who'd have thought it, eh?
I understood none of it, except where to place the flashes. Fortunately Noel, who also reads manuals, did, so between us, we can work it out.
Noel volunteered to be the model for the evening. Didn't he do well?!
